The head coach becomes an assistant again! Official: Georgeson joins Manchester United as first-team

According to the official website of Manchester United, Andreas Georgesson has joined Manchester United as the assistant coach of the first team.

The 42-year-old Georgesen is a new member of Manchester United's coaching staff this summer. He joined Manchester United from the Norwegian team Lillestrom, where he has been the head coach since January this year. Georgesson previously served as interim manager for a spell in his native Malmo in Sweden and has extensive managerial experience in England, having worked at Brentford, Arsenal and Southampton.

Rene Haque and Ruud Ruud were confirmed to have joined the club as first-team assistant coaches. Jelle ten Rubelaar has also joined the team as goalkeeping coach, and the three are already working hard with other staff to prepare for the upcoming 2024/25 season. Georgeson will join McLaren and Fletcher in a new coaching staff.

Manchester United played friendly matches against Rosenborg and Rangers before heading to the United States for tour matches against Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool before playing a Community Shield match against Manchester City on August 10.
